Description

A beautiful and rather striking palm that produces slender, arching trunks and graceful heads of attractive leaves.  Despite having been grown in New Zealand for many years this is still an uncommon palm.

Origin

Tropical and subtropical Africa.

Form and size

Clustering palm to 12m.

Preferred habitat

Outdoors in full sun.  Grows well in most coastal and temperate areas of the North Island.
